Steven came to PARC with low chances of making it. He was barely old enough to open his eyes, and it was already shut with painful eye infection. Conditions like this in a painfully young kitten is dangerous, and almost without hope.
But this sense of hope was something Steven was meant to teach PAWS volunteers. He eagerly suckled his bottled milk, didn't complain when the hardened discharge was wiped away from his nearly damaged eyes. He grew bigger, stronger, and healthier, until he was released in the kittens' area in the shelter, ready to be adopted.
If we ever have a mascot for being a survivor, Steven would make a great candidate.
Visit Steven at the PAWS Animal Rehab Center. He may just capture your heart.
