Animal Experimentation
PAWS is opposed to the use of animals in experimentation. In the interim, it will work for the enforcement of the Three Rs within industries that still use animals for research.
The Three Rs
Reduction – of the number of animals being used
Refinement – animals should not feel pain while being experimented on and should be euthanized immediately after the experiment if they can no longer be rehabilitated
Replacement – will promote the use of alternative methods of research and dissection (virtual dissection)
PAWS campaigns against the products and establishments using animals for experimentation and will encourage its members to purchase products that have not been tested on animals.
