Annual Spay Day

Every year in February, PAWS conducts a Spay Day or FREE KAPON. This is done specifically to help indigent pet owners avail of the surgery for their pets.

Free KAPON in celebration of World Spay Day

Spaying and neutering is a vital part of responsible pet ownership, and it is the key to preventing the proliferation of stray animals. Through the efforts of our volunteer vets and staff, more and more pet owners are benefiting from this annual activity.

A maximum of two (2) pets per person is allowed

Families with more than 2 pets need to have one handler for every 2 cats or dogs they bring.

How to avail of FREE kapon

  • Present a Certificate of Indigency from your Barangay
  • Register your pet on spay day between 10am to 12nn
  • Cats must be kept in crates or cages
  • Dogs must be kept on leash or in crates or cages

Please be prepared to wait long hours.

We strive to accommodate as many indigent pet owners as we can on a first-come, first served basis.

Pre-surgery reminders:

Age Requirement

Your cat or dog should be at least 6 months old. There is no maximum age, however if your pet is older than 4 years old, you need to ensure that they are in good health, eating well, and fit for surgery.

Blood Test

A blood test for complete blood count and kidney and liver function is normally required for cats and dogs over 4 years of age. A waiver needs to be signed if you are opting out of this requirement.

Fasting

Do not feed them food or water 12 hours prior to surgery. It is best to put them in their crate or ensure that they have no access to their food and water bowls by 10pm before the day of their surgery.
