VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION
We have temporarily closed Volunteer Applications. We will open the portal by January 1, 2025 for those who can attend the next PAWS VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION which is on February 1, 2025 – 10am to 1pm.
We are calling for volunteer applicants who can render on-site direct animal care work at the PAWS shelter in QC during office hours (Mondays to Saturdays, except Wednesdays, between the hours of 8am to 5pm) The required minimum hours is 8 hours a month for 6 months.
Note: The 8 hours may be rendered on a staggered basis over a course of several days within the month.
IMPORTANT: Many applicants only attend the orientation but don’t come back to volunteer. As a show of commitment, we are now asking all applicants for a P1000 deposit which will be returned after rendering at least 8 hours of volunteer work per month for 6 consecutive months. Only applications with a verified deposit will be accepted. Should an applicant fall short of the volunteer requirement, their P1000 deposit will be forfeited and used for medication and treatment of our special-needs shelter animals.
All volunteers must first submit the application form, deposit 1000 (which will be returned after rendering at least 8 hours of volunteer work per month for 6 consecutive months) and attend the orientation.
You can volunteer every day, once a week, once a month, or whenever your schedule allows it. However, to be considered an active, bona fide PAWS volunteer, you must render at least eight (8) hours of volunteer work every month.
You are considered an volunteer if you render at least eight (8) hours of volunteer work per month. Active volunteers get included in special activities, events, and workshops. Volunteers who foster shelter animals are automatically awarded their 8-hours for each month that they foster.
No. However, minors are required to attend the orientation with a parent or guardian. When volunteering, children below 13 must also be supervised by their parent or guardian.
A certain level of knowledge and familiarity with our policies are required in order to perform your volunteer duties. Therefore, all volunteers are required to attend orientation.
As a charity organization, we do not give volunteer certificates to students for academic compliance. Volunteering is generally considered an altruistic activity where one dedicates their time and resources for no financial or social gain.
No. All applications must be submitted within the designated period so that we have time to screen and confirm all attendees before the scheduled orientation date.
Pre-exposure rabies shots are required to do Direct Animal Care (dog walking, bathing, grooming & cuddling)
